Release of the 2014 Labour Market Plan

October 14, 2014
Posted in: News

Hamilton's workplaces are transforming. Once dominated by the manufacturing industry, the local labour market has diversified, giving rise to new opportunities and creating challenges for our workforce. The 2014 LMP is the result of an extensive evidence-based planning process that discovers and prioritizes these challenges and opportunities. It acts as a multi-year plan for community organizations, employers, job seekers and other stakeholders to contribute and build upon its developments.

The following priorities were determined by the community to be the ones that are most important and can best be addressed over the next several years.

1. Soft Skills Development

2. Designated Groups Engagement with the Labour Market

3. Understanding Increasing and Evolving Skills Requirements

4. Exploring Opportunities in Hamilton's Diversifying Economy
